Many fans know Justin Bieber as a talented musician because of his exceptional singing and songwriting, his aptitude for many different instruments, and the way he gives his all while performing. But does this Canadian star know how to play hockey?
Justin Bieber can play hockey, and began playing the sport at a very young age. Bieber is also a big fan of hockey, as he often posts encouraging messages for his favorite team, the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Bieber’s Hockey Skills
As Bieber was growing up, he had many different interests and talents. Music was obviously very important to him, as it’s what he’s built his career off of, but how did hockey factor in?
“I love hockey. I played hockey all my life,” Bieber said, talking about how he had played center forward on the rink as well as his favorite team, the Toronto Maple Leafs. “I’m a Leafs fan, yeah,” he said.
So Bieber has played hockey since he was a kid, but is he any good? After he played with some of his favorite players in late 2019, Mitch Marner, Auston Matthews, and Tyson Barrie, they talked about his skills on the ice.
“He’s actually better than I thought he is,” Marner began when giving his scouting report of Bieber’s playing in this post on Instagram. “I saw a video when he skated here the first time, you can’t see too much but he’s got really good hands and he’s got a pretty good shot on him. I think he surprised me and Matts quite a bit, and Tyson.”
Auston Matthews also gave his take on Bieber’s skills in this Twitter post from an interview with Roger Bennett, saying, “He’s a good player, he’s small but he’s pretty fast and he’s got good hands. [He] loves to score goals. Loves to score goals.”
Bieber and Jimmy Fallon took to the ice for him to teach Fallon how to play hockey. The lesson included everything from putting on hockey gear, learning how to skate, practicing skating and stickhandling drills, and shooting on the net.
While Fallon was completely new to the sport, Bieber looked right at home on the ice, both in going through drills and in scoring.

Bieber’s Other Sports
Bieber is a man of many talents, as he’s skilled as a singer, songwriter, and musician, and has learned to play the guitar, the piano, the drums, and even the trumpet. These hobbies have helped him throughout his career, but what are the activities that Bieber does to relax?
The star is also also very athletic, with many posts on his Instagram featuring him playing basketball, playing soccer, wakeboarding, boxing, skateboarding, as well as him playing hockey.
While Bieber’s skills in other sports may not be up to his talent in hockey, there are still great examples of his athleticism with gifs like this one, in which he beats out the guy he’s playing against to make a layup.
Bieber has taken some heat for his basketball playing, and in response to that criticism posted a video of him playing captioned, “to all the basketball playing trolls online saying i have bad form first of all I’m not a basketball player I’m a singer lol second of all I’ll work on my form ;).”
He doesn’t let online criticism get to him, which is an important skill as a worldwide celebrity. Bieber still takes part in his hobbies and favorite sports when he’s not on his extremely busy tour schedule, and posting short clips of it on social media.
