The Shires to Support Michael Bubl at BST Hyde Park

It is fast becoming a trend for British country acts to play at the prestigious Barclaycard Presents British Summer Time Hyde Park Festival. Last year the first ever Brit country act to score a number 1 album on the Official UK Album Chart, Ward Thomas supported the now sadly deceased Tom Petty, and this year the fastest selling UK country music act of all time, The Shires will play the festival in support of Canadian crooner Michael Bublé.

After a massively successful two years, the exciting announcement comes as Ben Earle and Crissie Rhodes -AKA The Shires are gearing up for the release of their eagerly anticipated third studio album ‘Accidentally On Purpose‘ which will be released on Friday, 20th April. Their first single lifted off the upcoming LP ‘Guilty‘, has gone straight into this week’s BBC Radio 2 ‘B’ playlist and is currently Record of the Week.

Speaking about playing the BST Festival, The Shires said:  “We are hugely excited to be playing Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park and supporting the incredible Michael Bublé. We recorded our new album ‘Accidentally on Purpose’ in Nashville, the home of Country Music, so to be performing our new music in Hyde Park which has so much musical history, feels like coming full circle. Headlining the second stage for thousands of fans in the sunshine, will be a very special moment for us”

The duo’s performance at Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park will come just a few weeks after they wrap their national tour of the UK, with dates throughout May and June;
