'Young & Hungry' Has Been Renewed for Season 5

Freeform is delivering us more of Young & Hungry! On Thursday, the network announced a new season for the hit TV show. Freeform also picked up the sci-fi drama Stitchers for a third season earlier this month.

‘Young & Hungry’ is a comedy show about an entrepreneur (John Sadowski) who hires a feisty young food blogger (Emily Osment) to be his chef. Last season, the show was the number one cable comedy among adults 18-34. The series and cast have been nominated for seven Teen Choice Awards and two People’s Choice Awards since its premiere in the summer of 2014.

“The series has been a powerhouse for us since launch, and we are thrilled to bring it back for a fifth season.” Said Karey Burke, the Freeform executive vice president of programming and development.

Freeform is 100% invested in ‘Young & Hungry’ and are developing a spin off of the show. It will be focused on Aimee Carrero’s and Ashley Tisdale’s characters. The backdoor pilot, “Young & Sofia” aired in season four of ‘Young & Hungry’.

‘Young & Hungry’ is produced by David Holden, Ashley Tisdale, Jessica Rhoades, Caryn Lucas, and Eric Tannenbaum and Kim Tannenbaum in association with CBS Television Studios. Jonathan Sadowski, Aimee Carrero, Kym Whitley and Rex Lee co-star alongside Osment.
